I put all these down on the TBR list. Thank you for your recommendations. There was only one I didn't write down--Victorian Psycho--too close with personal issues. And I am squeamish, lol. Thank you again, Sadie! Happy New Year!

I just have to let people know exactly what they're signing up for with that book, for readers like you and so many others. It does cross over some thresholds. :) Hope you enjoy the others!

CJ Cooke’s Haunting in the Arctic was one of my favorite reads last year! It was so good! I made the mistake of starting it on Thanksgiving morning and did not want to pause to make food on time 😂

Ha! Yes! I loved that one too. She has a flare for dual timelines. I loved The Ghost Woods (dual timelines) and need to finish The Book of Witching

It sounds like we will get the most from the new A.G. Slater book if we read the earlier titles? I’ve fallen behind on these and am happy to catch back up before reading this newest release!

They are all stand-alone novels, but yes, you will get more out of it if you read the other three because characters and references from those books, appear in this one and it is honestly the best parts of this book.

I was so surprised by how much I loved Law of the Skies!! The bookseller who was working at Jenny Keifer’s Butcher Cabin Books the day I went hand sold me on it. (I can’t remember if it was Jenny working that day)

I read it in one sitting on a camping trip and it was perfectly brutal!

And Victorian Psycho has echos of that kind of casual cruelty and violence. It's black humor, you don't want to find her behavior amusing, but it is lol

I've only listened to Hendrix's The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, and loved it - which makes me even more intrigued that it wasn't even in your top picks from his work.

I enjoyed that book a lot! But How to Sell A Haunted House and My Best Friend's Exorcism were my top favs and most recommended, now Witchcraft for Wayward Girls will be the top honor :)

I am half way through Victorian Gothic and it is wild. I keep thinking she is an evil Mary Poppins😆

Thanks for these recommendations. I've ready every Grady Hendrix novel and enjoyed them all. A. G. Slatter is an excellent story teller too. 🐈‍⬛
