My sister is five years older than I am and she taught me to read. Thanks for giving me a moment to think about that again.

There's so much that could be said about social media. I'm disappointed how divisive it is, when it could be a forum for sincere dialog and respectful, civil discussion. I'm deeply struck by what you've said here, and will need to think about it a while. My initial conclusion is that you are correct, and have stated what I've tried to say to myself and failed. Namely, this quote: "I came to the conclusion that as far as I can determine, human beings are not wired with the ability to manage the volume of input from strangers that social media produces. We also lack the ability to navigate nuanced conversations about divisive topics of conversations and opinions."

In other news, I set myself a topical horror reading challenge for 2023. I've got a preliminary one set for 2024 — but I bet yours is better. Can't wait to see it.
