My feelings are similar. I hate Amazon with a burning passion but it's really the only place I can sell my books. There's a godless website but I don't know when I'm going to get the time to upload ebooks to it and if it will even profit me when I do. Since POD prices went up I had to reduce my physical copy bookstore discount. So eveb then only Amazon carries them and they are still cheaper as Kindle books.
And I will probably try putting up more fiction on Kindle just because I need income since chatgpt killed my best writing jobs.
I agree with you and have cancelled my prime and will not order from Amazon. I am a narrator that aquires most of my work on ACX, the platform for Audible. I support a lot of indie writers and small publishing houses, which means I will take projects on a royalty share agreement in between my paid work. There are many down sides to this, the least of which is never recovering monetarily the time I invested to produce these works. Because these are royalty share, I only get paid on sales through Audible. So, it's a sticky wicket.
I think that's great, as you say, You do You. I find myself stuck in a strange place because I have so frigging many Kindle books. To cancel my Prime acct would mean giving up all those ebooks I've hoarded and have yet to read. So I haven't figured it all out. But I'm thinking about all of it.
I recently discovered LibroFM for the same reason and also have a hard time ditching Kindle/KU. :/
I think we’re doing fine. Keep the KU :)
Amazon is so gross. That rat fucker ruined the Washington Post. The best thing about Bezos has been his ex-wife.
Agree big time. He sucks rotten eggs.

God sorry to hear those struggles, Tim.
