The Very, Very Busy Week
Seeing it all in one place like this made my eyes fall out. I have no eyes.
MONDAY 5/1
Monday 5/1 my patrons got an exclusive early look at my book response for THE SHOEMAKER’S MAGICIAN by Cynthia Pelayo. Now I dropped it on Goodreads for the general public, so you can READ IT TOO
I also dropped my interview with author, CJ Leede
Our June Night Worms packages went on sale and sold out in about an hour
The May 2023 Issue 28 of Nightmare Magazine is available with a feature-length interview. Gordon B. White asked some great questions. You can BUY IT or wait a few weeks for the free online version
TUESDAY 5/2
I unpacked all the new horror books released on Tuesday, May 2nd for my Patrons.
We dropped the cover and pre-order for the next book in the DARK HART line-up, APPARITIONS by Adam Pottle, PRE-ORDER HERE
VIOLENCE WAS HIS FIRST LANGUAGE.
A nameless Deaf teen escapes his father's basement after years of imprisonment. Bloody, alone, and without language, he stumbles through the Saskatchewan prairies and lands in a psychiatric facility, where he meets Felix, another Deaf teen. Felix—cunning and ambitious—teaches the nameless narrator Sign Language and begins to mold the abused teen's mind. But mold into what?
Adam Pottle is a Deaf author living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
WEDNESDAY 5/3
We packed goodie bags all day for the Night Worms May 2023 package
Immediately after we finished, I jumped on a launch party for The Stradivarius by Rae Knowles there I am, bottom left with the space buns.
THURSDAY 5/4
I finished Graveyard of Lost Children and posted about it on #bookstagram but still need to write up a full review today. I’m making great headway on my large NetGalley TBR having finished, Spin A Black Yarn, The Strange, and The Graveyard of Lost Children in the last 2 weeks. This helps keep anxiety at bay.
My Patrons got a full breakdown of all the horror books I wish I could have read when I was in high school and authors I would have thought were so cool.
I also watched the entire TV Mini-Series, SALEM’S LOT (1979) for a podcast I’m going on this afternoon. The episode will air on my birthday, May 29th
Barlow is bae.
My publicity team met with me to go over some actionable promo stuff which made me realize I haven’t taken a selfie with my ARC, so I did that too, sans make-up, very “this is the way I really look”
Lastly, this morning I dropped my review for Spin A Black Yarn by Josh Malerman
and my Book Chat with Brian Allen Carr- we read THE STRANGE by Nathan Ballingrud together
My Patron family got a sneak peek of an upcoming listicle I’m writing for The LineUp
Conjuring the Witch put Jessica on my "always buy from" list. I was able to get an early copy while at Ghoulish last month, and I blazed through it, especially those last 40 pages.
What a week! So thrilled you made time to join us for the launch party :)
